Lovin these little ones!

We are having so much fun with this little guy! No, I do not sleep much and it is an accomplishment if I get out of my sweatpants for the day but we are still loving it! Callen is doing great and growing, growing, growing. At his 2 week check up he weighed in at 7 lbs 11 0z. He is over a pound bigger than when he was born!

This little one is still as energetic as can be. Some Elders in our old ward once said she was "very full of life." What a nice way to say your child is a human tornado! But she is still very full of life, which I have to admit I absolutely love! I wouldn't know what to do with myself everyday if I did not have to chase around, play with, and be bossed around by an adorable toddler. I am sad to say that the whole potty training thing has really gone down hill. She went about 2 weeks with no accidents and now we are lucky if she goes on the potty once a day. Everyone always said she would revert back when Callen was born but I guess I didn't want to believe them. She will get it though!!
Cute China outfit I got in New York.

Camo overalls and she picked out the way cool sock and sandal combo!!

This crazy guy has been really struggling with being able to hold Callen. Mommy and Daddy can hold and love on Callen all they want but Papa is a different story!! Olivia has informed him that he is her Papa, not Callen's. We all guessed that he would be the one that would bring out the jealously in her. Maybe if he wasn't such a great grandpa we wouldn't have this struggle! :)

What a handsome boy!!! I think it is funny how my kids don't look a like, Olivia looks a lot like I did when I was little and Callen looks like his daddy. Maybe they will change someday and will look like siblings!! I don't mind though, I think they are both pretty dang cute!!!
So tiny in his crib!! I am almost done with Callen's room, I just have to finish some wood letters for his name. Maybe I will be ambitious and do those today. And then maybe I will post some pictures of both the kids' rooms. Maybe.

Callen Russell Payne

Callen Russell decided to come into the world on September 9, 2010 at 4:03 AM. He was 6 pounds, 9 ounces and 19 inches long. He is exactly 1 ounce smaller than his sister was and same length. He will just have to catch up I guess!!!

Here is the birth recap...

We were suppose to be going in to be induced Wednesday night. I called around 5:30 to see if a room was available. They said they were really busy and would call when one was ready. I wasn't expecting to go in until about 9 anyways, so that I would have him on the 9th and not on the 8th, which is our anniversary. Nine o'clock rolls around and still no call to go in. So we were all getting anxious and decided that since we were home we should all get some sleep.

Casey and I got ready, into bed, and started watching the news when I started having bad cramps. I told Casey I though I could be going into labor and he thought I was just being silly. I started to keep track and these "cramps" were about 15 minutes apart. I decided to try to sleep and thought they would end up going away. Around 11:00 I woke up because they were really bad and now only 5 minutes apart!! We decided to head up to the hospital. We finally got to the hospital around 1:00 AM. I started having bad contractions and for some reason they were slow to get me an epidural. I finally got my epidural around 3:00 AM and then at about 3:20 they said I was at a 8. We started pushing around 3:50 and at 4:03 I was holding my precious baby boy!!! It was all so quick and great. The actually pushing went really good, I was actually laughing while pushing because my doctor and nurse were being hilarious!!! I guess since we couldn't get a room for induction, Callen decided to take matters into his own hands and come on his own (For the hospital's defense, they were busy and 6 babies were born that night!! They were all running around crazy!).

Here is our new little family of four. At first Olivia didn't know what to think about and was a little scared of him. When we asked her if we should take him home or put him back in Mommy's tummy she said back in Mommy's tummy. But when we did get home, she started dancing and cheering "I have a baby brother!" Now she says we should keep him and likes him. She even got a little defensive when she thought my cousin and aunt were going to take him home. They got up to leave and my cousin, Kindra, was holding him. Olivia stands up, put her hands on her hips, and says "you can't take my baby brother home" with as much authority as she could. It was pretty cute!!

Before we went to the hospital we had his name down to either Caleb or Carson and thought we would decide after we saw him. Well, we saw him and decided he wasn't a Caleb OR a Carson but a Callen. We had thought of Callen before but not really seriously for some reason. We really like it because it starts with a C for Casey and then is Allen, which is my Dad's middle name. Then Russell is Casey's middle name, his dad's middle name, his grandfather's name, and his mom's maiden name!! So his name kind of covers both sides of the family!!
Going home

The new big sister!!

Looks like his daddy, such a handsome boy!!
So far we have LOVED having a new little one in our house. I feel great and am recovering really well, a little tired but that is expected. And Callen is going great too and eats like a champ. I feel like I am constantly nursing!! We just got back from his 2 day checkup and he is up to 6 lbs 8 oz. He dropped to 6 lbs 4 oz at the hospital and the doctors like them to be back at birth weight by their 2 week appointment, so he has 1 oz to go!! I think he will be there and over by then!!

T minus 2 weeks

I have 2 weeks until my due date!!!! I am so excited.

I feel like I haven't done as much for this pregnancy so I decided I would write at least one post about it.

Maybe it is because this isn't my first time being pregnant and I don't have to worry about getting so much stuff because I have most of it from Olivia.

Or maybe it is because Olivia runs 24/7 so I haven't had time to really think and worry about this pregnancy.

Either way, I feel a little bad.

{This picture was taken at Olivia's birthday so I was 33 weeks along}

So for 9 months of prego info into one post, you are in for a fun read. Not really, but since I make a yearly book of my posts I am doing this for my own journal; sorry everybody else.

I started this pregnancy really sick. It didn't help that our whole house caught the stomach flu when I was about 10 weeks along and already had bad morning sickness. I ended up losing 3 pounds in my first 3 months of being prego so my doctor put my on Zofran. It was my friend. I loved it and it took the vomiting away!!! With Olivia, after about 20 weeks I did not get morning sickness any more but I threw up randomly 3 times after that. With this baby I had to take Zofran until about 25 weeks and have only thrown up once since I started it. Wait, that is a lie. I threw up both nights I stayed in NYC but I think that was due to the nasty smells there and riding an elevator up and down to check on teenagers.

I don't remember being this sore and achy as I was with Olivia. I have had a pinched Sciatic nerve for about 4 months so that is really fun to try to walk around with and carry a two year old. I think the big thing is that I can't just go take a nap or sit down and relax a minute like I could with my first pregnancy because I have a toddler that I love and take care of.

Speaking of that toddler, she is doing pretty good at potty training. Still at least one accident a day but she is getting it. You didn't really think I could do a post and not talk about her at least a little bit right??? And have some cute pictures right??? I really don't know how much she understands about this baby brother coming though. She knows certain things are his, like his clothes, room, and blankets but I wonder if she just thinks I am crazy and have a room all made up for my growing belly. By the way, according to Olivia I am not the only one that has a baby brother in my belly... Papa has one too. I guess his is just a few years overdue!

{Big sister in training}

Something else fun about this soon to be big sister, she has started praying at dinner and it is so cute to listen to her. So this was her prayer the other night...

"Heavly Fader... Thank thee dis day... Bless the food... Bless baby brother come out of Mommy's belly... Jesus Christ... Amen."

Pretty cute huh?

{Isn't she a doll??? I just love this little girl!!}

So I have 2 weeks left. 13 days to be exact but who is counting?? I went to the doctor yesterday and he informed me I was dilated to a 3, about 70% thinned, and his head is just above my pelvis. Those are good signs. But I was dilated to a 4 and then a 5 with Olivia for 3 weeks so I am not too optimistic. I guess it does help explain the constant need to go to the bathroom, my very odd waddle, and the feeling or a bowling ball being held you know where.

Actually he told me something I was very glad to hear: If I haven't had him by Tuesday at my next appointment, when I am 39 weeks along, we can schedule me to be induced!! For some reason he did not want to induce me with Lou Lou so I went over 10 days. I was actually okay with it and went into labor myself. But I am thinking I just might let him induce me this time. I am thinking September 2nd would be a good day. I guess we will see what Dr. Jones thinks on Tuesday.

Quick (but fun) family trip

Last week we were able to go down to Salt Lake for a night. I really wanted to go to Park City for a few days like we did last year but with moving and the baby coming, we just couldn't get enough time to go. So, we went to Salt Lake and stayed last Sunday night and came home Monday. Quick but still fun!!!

Casey's brother just had a new baby a few weeks ago so while we were in Salt Lake, we went and visited them. Baby "Shark" (as Olivia called her for a little while) was so cute! I can't believe how tiny she is. It is hard to imagine my little girl was ever that little and that this little boy will be that small!!! (By the way, her name is Charlotte, not shark, and Olivia was able to say it pretty good by the time we actually got to their house) I didn't get any pictures of the sweet new baby but I did get some fun ones of Lou Lou and her two cousins, Amelia and Ezra, playing. Olivia had so much fun with her cousins!!!! Amelia is 5 1/2 and Ezra is 3, so they are all close enough in age that they can get along pretty good. This is really the first time that Olivia has been big enough to actually go along and play with them.

Justin (Casey's brother) got out the Barbie power wheels and Olivia was in heaven!!! She loved to ride around in that thing! She even started screaming when we made her come in for a break and eat a cookie. How horrible, have to stop playing to have a yummy, fresh from the oven cookie!!! She was able to drive Ezra's cool little 4 wheeler toy for a bit but he didn't like that too much. But he was a pretty good driver on it, as you can see in the next picture!!

He drove it up the pole of the trampoline and it flipped over on him. We all thought it was pretty funny and had time to take pictures (obviously) before we realized he really couldn't get up from under it. Good thing it is a plastic toy!!!

Cheese!!!!
Watch out!!! Olivia's driving!!!! She didn't really steer, just pushed down the gas but she thought it was great!!! Amelia wouldn't ride with her though, she said "I don't ride, I just drive." I don't blame her though, who would really trust a 2 year old to drive??? Olivia really did have so much fun and keeps asking if she can go play with Amelia and Ezra again.
The next day, we got up and went to Hogle Zoo. Olivia loves animals and loved when we went to Tautphaus Park, which we had just went 2 days before with Grandma and Grandpa. We had told Olivia a few days before actually went down to Utah that we were going to Hogle Zoo and so she kept asking everyday if we were going to the zoo. I would have the tell her no, not for a few days. Finally she told me, "Papa will take me to the zoo." So as soon as she saw her Papa she said "Papa, you take me to the zoo?" and of course he said yes. So we loaded up and went to Tautphaus Park the next day (Saturday) even though we would be going to a zoo again in 2 days (Monday). What a spoiled girl. She really knows how to work those grandparents of hers!!! Even though, we had fun at Hogle Zoo.

Lou was really excited to see the elephants and they did not disappoint!! There was a cute little baby elephant. She was about a year old and Olivia thought she was pretty neat. She thought it was funny they had put there food on their heads and told me "Mom, you better go wash them, they have messy face."

One of the highlights of the zoo was oddly enough a carousel. Olivia rode it twice and both times she had to be on "Uniqua's dolphin." Uniqua is one of the Backyardigan characters that she loves (you'll have to read the previous birthday post if you don't know about her obsession) and in one episode Uniqua is a dolphin racer. So, of course, it was AWESOME to ride Uniqua's dolphin at the zoo!!! She also thought the choo-choo train ride was pretty neat.

Lou Lou riding the "kitty-cats." You can kind of see a baby belly shot in this picture. I don't I have put any of those on here yet.
Picking a tiger. She ended up taking a pink one home. Mom and Dad are suckers.
And I would like to say this is how Olivia was the whole way home, but no, just to Layton were we stopped to eat at Olive Garden. Then she stayed awake the rest of the car ride. It was actually okay, she was really good.

So our little family trip was very short this year but still fun. Olivia was great and and had a good time. She did have a few accidents at Justin and Joi's house in her "travel panties" (as we call her pull-ups, they are also called night time panties for when she goes to bed) but she was excited and running around chasing her cousins so that was understandable. No accidents at the zoo though so that was good!!! Lots of fun, hopefully we get to take a little longer trip next year but we will see, we will have two little monsters to chase around then!!

Olivia's 2nd birthday!!!

On July 20th my sweet little girl turned 2!!! I can't believe it!!! She is officially in the terrible twos (but I think she has been there for a few months now). Since Olivia LOVES the Backyardigans, we had a huge Backyardigans bash. We had so much fun!! I even found huge Pablo and Uniqua balloons, which she thought were "pretty cool." They are now hanging on the back of her door and her wall with all the air out and she shows every one them when they come over.

We had a few friends and family over and BBQ one of Lou's favorites, HAM-burgers!!!

Daddy helping Lou blow out her candles. She was able to do it this year!!

The cute Backyardigan cupcakes. Olivia told me she wanted to pink cupcakes and green ice cream so that is exactly what we had. It is great having such an opinionated little girl (that is sarcastic if you can't tell). Abby and Olivia had fun with the cupcakes though. They would take one of the little characters out, each the frosting and the top of the cupcake and then go for another one. They had blue, pink, yellow, orange, and purple frosting all over their cute little faces!!!

Notice they had a different colored cupcake in each picture?? I figured it was her birthday, and the extra sugar is okay for her special day!

Opening presents with Grandma Terri.

Wearing her cute hat from Uncle Brandon.

Olivia had 3 of the Backyardigan characters so for her birthday we got her the last 2 (Tyrone and Tosha). She was so excited to open them!! She opened Tosha first and then it was funny because she knew that Tyrone was in the other present so she started screaming and tearing the present open saying "It's Tyrone in there!!!" It was hilarious!! We also got her a swing set since she loves swinging so much and we don't live close to a park anymore. She was VERY excited for that!!! We now go out almost daily and swing and slide.

Pin the bow tie on Pablo. Abby played (hers is the little bow tie on Pablo's foot) but Olivia would not get out of her swing to play. That's okay, us adults had more fun than I think any of us thought we would. Kind of funny when you get some competitive men (Casey, Casey Humphreys, and Brandon) playing a kid's game, they each had to have 2 turns!! I think my Mom ended up winning though!!!

Overall I think Lou Lou had a fun birthday. A few days after her birthday I asked her what we should name baby brother and she told me "Um... How bout Happy Birthday?" so I am guessing the birthday excitement stuck with her!!!

Happy Birthday Lou Lou!!!! We love you!!!!
