My little man

We love our little boy so much!!! It has been so fun with him around. He is starting to smile a lot and coo a bit which absolutely melts my heart!

Don't you love those dimples?!? I could kiss them all day! (OK, so I do)

Callen really is a good baby. Still sleeps most of the day but that is okay. He goes to bed around 10:00, wakes up once during the night around 3:00, and is up again around 7. Not too bad really, even though I am really looking forward to when he starts to sleep through the night!! He is a bit gassy but we have been given him some Mylicon drops which help SO much. He is a completely different baby after those drops! He also spits up alot, way more than Lou ever did. Hopefully he outgrows it soon. But I guess there are worse things than having to wash burp rags all the time and always having a bit of spit up on my shoulder, so I will take it!!!

Carving Pumpkins

We decided to carve pumpkins this year and it was so much fun!! Granted, Casey and I did most (okay all) the work but we still enjoyed it. Olivia took one spoonful of goop out and decided she didn't want to touch the pumpkin anymore. But she watched and cheered me on while I carved mine. Callen, of course, slept through the whole thing!
Finished products...We did a pumpkin for each of us. Olivia's is Pablo from the Backyardigan's, mine is the kitty-cat, Casey's is the grim reaper, and Callen's is the smiling jack-o-lantern.

Got to love the cheeser!!!
Happy Halloween everybody!!!

Spinner

This is Olivia...

or how she likes to refer to herself... Spinner. Spinner is a little yellow spider with glasses that my daughter insists on being. Olivia's imagination has really began to develop and I think it is SO FUN!! She loves to pretend to be different things all the time, sometimes she is a gecko (I know, random), sometimes a frog, but usually she is Spinner. Spinner is off of a cartoon called Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends. It is a cute little show that has become her new favorite. Olivia has also assigned our whole family to be buggies.

So this would be a family picture...
Papa Kelly (Shimmer; the pink jewel beetle),
Aunt KJ (Snowdrop; the orange spider with green bow),
Daddy (Holley; the daddy spider, big spider with glasses),
Grandma Terri (Bounce; the blue bed bug),
Olivia (Spinner),
Mommy (Miss Spider or yellow; the mommy spider, the HUGE yellow spider, is she trying to tell me something??),
Uncle Brandon (Wiggle; the blue spider),
Papa Randy (Squirt; the green spider),
Grandma Julie (Pansy; the orange spider with the pink bow),
Callen (Dragon; the purple dragonfly).

She not only has assigned each of us a buggy, but calls us by our buggy name.
She will go up to Callen and say "Hi Dragon!"
Or will ask if she can go to Squirt and Bounce's house.
Or ask me where Holley is and when he will be home from work.
Or tell her Papa "come on Squirt, come play with Spinner."
Or yell up from my parent's basement "Yellow!! Holley!! Bounce!! Come look at Spinner!"

If I say to her "Olivia will you..." she will look at me and say "No, I'm Spinner."

One day outsitde, she was walking up to my Dad and he asked "Who's that little girl coming?" She responded "It's Spinner!"

One of the funnies things about this buggy business is that whenever Spinner is on the show, which isn't a lot, she freaks out and will either shout "There I am! There's Spinner!" or put her hands over her heart like a love struck girl and say "Oh Spinner" every so sweet. Should I be concerned that my daughter may have a crush on an eight-legged creepy crawly bug? Nah.

Miss Spider and Spinner, or in Olivia's world, Mommy and Lou Lou

I paint

"I paint"

Those are words a mother does not like to hear from her two year old, especially when you look at that two year old and she has fingernail polish all over her hands.
Olivia likes to play with my "little lotions," also known as fingernail polish. She likes to line them up and group them by size and color. She can play with the little lotions for a good 30-40 minutes at a time, which to a mother is heaven sent. She had never painted with them before.

Today she apparently learned that the little lotions can be opened. I had just given Callen a bath and was in getting him dressed when my daughter comes in and asks me if I can open the purple little lotion. I look down and see pink and red and blue sparkles all over my daughters hands, in her hair, and on her shirt. GREAT! I ask her, "Lou, what did you do?"

Her reply... "I paint."
After a good laugh, a good scrub of my cupboards with fingernail polish remover, and a nice bath for my little artist, I made sure all the tops of the little lotions are on tight and put out of reach. Hopefully there is no more painting going on in my house anytime soon.

Photo session

We had these pictures taken of the kids when Callen was a week old. They turned out so cute, I LOVE them!!! And so everyone knows, Deana Johnson at A Day to Adore took them and she is great!

My pretty little girl @ 2 years 2 months old and my handsome boy @ 1 week

I just love them all!!!!

Callen went in for his 2 week appointment and was up to 7 lbs 11 oz and 20 inches long. He is getting chunky and I love it!!! OK, so he is still pretty skinny but gaining over a pound in 2 weeks is pretty impressive. His face it filling out and it makes his dimples really stand out. He is starting to smile too and those dimples makes all the work to get a smile definitely worth it!!
