My little girl started a journey that will take her 13-20 years to complete....
She started school.
I thought she would maybe be a bit scared or nervous or anxious to go but she walked in to her classroom, saw they were painting, and said "We're painting!!!" and ran right over to start. I had to call her name to tell her bye and she just looked over and waved.
Not joining to lie, I teared up as I walked back to my van without my little girl. Then I went to a few stores with just the boys and, man, that was weird. So quiet, so different. Don't get me wrong, I love my boys but I haven't been without that little girl for 4 years. And she started talking full sentences and carrying on conversations with me at around 14 months so having two quiet boys is something I have to get used to.
I just keep thinking that this is it, next year she will go to Kindergarten and be gone even longer and then first grade. All day, 5 days a week I won't have my girl.
Why can't they stay little forever?
I think starting school is harder on parents than it is on kids.

I totally agree with you- I still wish that my 8 year old was 4. It is sad- but also exciting how much they grown and change. Watch out- They just keep on growing!
