Seven

Callen turned 7 months old on April 9th. Wow. My baby boy is getting big. Here are 7 tidbits about our little 7 month old Cal man:

• 1. Callen is still a happy HAPPY baby. I thought Lou was a happy baby (and she was, I have been blessed with rather good babies), but Callen is almost giddy happy. I love it. He is always trying to catch someones eye so he can give them a big smile and show off those dimples.

• 2. He is still a momma's boy and will give me a big hug if I ask for one. Occasionally he will do it for my mom but I am happy to admit I get the most and best squeezes from him.

• 3. Callen is a little roller. If you lay him on the ground, it's a pretty good bet he will be rolling to whatever else is one the floor within 2 seconds. He was only a one way roller, always rolling left, but he has picked up rolling to the right now too. It is funny, I will take my eyes off him for a second and when I look back he is one the other side of the room with some toy or sock in his mouth.

• 4. Mr. Cal is as curious as they come. I am in trouble with this one and just know the day will come when I come in the kitchen and see flour, or sugar, or whatever peeks his curiosity at the moment, dumped all over him and the floor. He is always trying to reach something and will either be bending and wiggling out of your arms or his seat to reach it or rolling like a mad man on the floor so he can get it.

• 5. He cut his first tooth on Friday, April 8th. Bottom middle right. He had been working on the thing for awhile and it looks like the bottom middle left on will be following suit soon.
  

• 6. Callen is feeding himself so good! During dinner he always has a little mum-mum cracker so he is occupied and I can hurry and eat my dinner before I feed him his baby food. He also eats little puffs. They look like little pieces of cereal but they dissolve easier and quicker. He can even pick them up himself with his index finger and thumb and get them into his mouth!

• 7. He is so close to crawling!! I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Good because he will be able to get around; bad because, well, he will be able to get around. Casey and I are predicting that sometime in the month of April he will get the hang of it. We shall see!!
